Fresh fruit is always my go to for a healthy dessert with dollop of whipped heavy cream or whipped coconut cream, as an afternoon snack, or for breakfast when combined with a bit of Greek yogurt or some scramble eggs.
Summertime brings peaches in season and at their peak flavor. But they are also at their peak nutrient value too! All fruits and vegetables contain the highest level of vitamins and minerals when picked and eaten in season and fresh off the vine or tree.
This simple fruit bowl is colorful and nutritious yet takes just 5 minutes to prepare. Add a Summer Peach & Berry Bowls your Sunday Brunch or Barbecue menu and it will definitely be a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 Peach, sliced
- 1 cup Strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup Blueberries
- 1 tsp Raw Honey, optional
Instructions
- Rinse and dry the peach and strawberries. Rinse blueberries in a colander or metal strainer.
- In a medium sized bowl, slice the peach and strawberries. Toss about 30 seconds until juices begin to release.
- Add blueberries and honey if using. Toss to coat evenly and Serve.
Note: Fruit and berries are typically sweet enough when picked in season and allowed to ripen before eating. In this case omit the honey or other added sweeteners.
